An encyclopedia you can fly through

fock.space is a free, public reference and education site. It holds encyclopedia-style articles about concepts — physics, biology, mathematics, law, medicine, finance and more — and renders the connections between them as a navigable map instead of a list of links. You can search it, read it, and follow how one idea stands on another.

What it is for

Most reference sites tell you what a thing is. This one also shows you what it is built from and what it relates to, and it shows its work: every article and every relation on the map carries the evidence behind it and the recorded decision that admitted it. Nothing appears on the map anonymously.

• Read — each concept has an article, in plain and technical registers.
• Navigate — concepts render as a graph; search condenses it to the neighborhood you asked for.
• Verify — tap any relation to see the claim, its evidence, and the ruling that ratified it.
• Discuss — each concept has a public comment thread, scoped to that concept and moderated under the site's published constitution.

Privacy

You can read the entire site without an account, without a signup form, and without giving a name or an email address. A first visit mints an anonymous callsign stored in a first-party cookie so your own writing stays yours across visits; the site shows you how that identity was derived and lets you erase it in one tap. Private conversations use the Signal protocol, so their contents exist only on the participants' devices — there is no server-side plaintext to read, leak, or subpoena.

Nothing you read here is sold, brokered, or shared with an advertising network, because there is no advertising network.

The name

"Fock space" is a term from quantum mechanics — the mathematical space, named for the Soviet physicist Vladimir Fock (1898–1974), that describes a system with a variable number of particles. The site is named after it because the atlas is a space with a variable number of ideas in it. The name is a physicist's surname, not a word to be read as anything else.
